being good pet owners

belly before:

belly after:

poor essa-peppers had to go to the doc on thurs. to be spayed :( I didn't realize they were going to keep her all nite! :(
This momma missed her lil baby...it was strange not having her under-foot..or snuggling with her!
She's back home now.. with 5 lil stitches on her tummy :( Im torn..i would have sooooo wanted her to have babies.. I've never had the experience of a litter of puppies before. But..we are being responsible pet owners..and dang it..i hate it lol

Essa is adorable. And...I love puppy bellies.

Hope you are dry and doing well after all the rain. There's a wee bit of snow on the Cleveland Forest "mountains" behind our house.

Oh my Essa, she has such a cute pink tummy!!!!
Her puppies would have been sweet, but you did the right thing......
She is so adorable, and my she has grown!!!
How are you doing? Haven't talked to you in awhile, sorry, I am so behind in my visits, I am struggling this year to keep up.
Hugs,

That sweet face says it all ~ "Was it a dream or did something really happen during my nap?" But I commend you for being a good responsible mama. I have a heart and work with no kill rescue dogs and cats shelters and know too well the result of unspayed females. You are doing the right thing! Blessings Sandy!

Awww, sweet little Essa! They kept her all night? I would have been going a little crazy without my little man. He was neutered, though, and it's been a long time since I've had to have a puppy spayed. It's a more invasive procedure.

Sometimes the right thing isn't the easy thing, but you can be proud of yourself for doing what you feel is right in your heart, Sam.

x's and o's for you and Essa!

She is so cute! I wish more people were responsible pet owners. I can imagine you missing her overnite. I had to leave Roby at the vet for a couple of hours for tests and I was floored by that. I even have a groomer come to the house.. my one spoiled baby - got to love them. take care - Joni

Well, as I've been told, it's healthier for them, too. Keeps the stress levels down from trying to mate with everything that gets in the way....LOL. You did the right thing, and she'd thank you if she could talk.

Hugs,
Meri

Awww...Thanks for doing the right thing for Sweet Essa. She is such a cutie pie. Yes, used to work in surgery at Vet Hospital & they always keep spays over night just to be safe. Boys are easier...home the same day. I'm sure your Vet told you...Try to keep her quiet & dry til those stitches come out in 10 to 14 days. ;)
