A Weekend Up in the Pines...

Not too many pics to actually prove that I was up in the Pines.. but a couple to tease you with.
We headed out Friday ..and decided to go 'cool off' up in the Mountains ..so we drove up to Idyllwild.
But whewwweeee!! It was just as hot up there!! But lovely none the less...and we hit a trail to go see the sites. This pic below is on a trail up in Idyllwild..and it over looks down onto the lovely city of Hemet.
Sorry these pics are out of order..but the two pics shown below are when we came down off the mountain and decided to stay a nite at Lake Skinner in Temecula. It was 99 (pointing away from the wind)..and its hard to make out..but it reads 106 pointing into the wind... in the SHADE!! whew!!
A couple of hours BEFORE i decided to take a pic of the temp...the reading was at 113.. pointing into the wind..in the SHADE~
lordy~
Usually i enjoy the heat.. don't mind it.. just give me shade.. something cold to sip..and i should be all set.
But call it hormones.. or just plain crankiness.. but i just wanted to be COOL... or jump in my POOL... like.. NOW! lol
We cranked on the AC in the RV..and chilled out for a couple of hours and waited for the sun to go down.
"Lord , please send cooler temps today...please? I promise not to get cranky..and I promise I'll be not to kick the dog"

Tim.. preparing the grill in Idyllwild County Park. The menu for the nite was grilled corn on the cob and tilapia..

awwww...look what I found at Lake Skinner!!!! Everytime.. (well..just about everytime..) we stay at our favorite spot at Lake Skinner (Site #301).. and look what was waiting for me???? Our initials!!! Tim carved these in one of the tree's there awhile ago...and look at how nicely it's 'aging' ...awwwwwwww... he's so cute like that! :)
this next shot was taken earlllllly monday morning..when i got a wild hair up my butt and decided I'd get up at the buttcrack of dawn to see what I could see..

a morning flower greets me...
and this set of nuts...hehehe.. greeted us while up in Idyllwild..on that trail.. we stopped to have a snack under a tree..and this was hanging above our heads.

back in Lake Skinner.. a cloud that seriously looked like an angel..flying.. blowing her trumpet.. so i quick jumped up and grabbed the camera.. but now looking at it..it totally doesn't look that way at all! lol (maybe it was the wine talking)
I hope you all have a great week and enjoy your last week of August... as for myself..Im looking forward to Friday ... :)
My friend, Christy (Ccswhimsies) is coming to California on a family vacation..and will be dropping by to give me a hug and hopefully stay for a lil bit before running off to the airport in San Diego to pick up family. Im so excited! :)

Other Great news...
Our forecast!!!!
Thursday, September 20, 2007
Cool and cloudy weather is expected in the Temecula Valley and the region today, as an early season Pacific storm enters the area. The main impact of the storm should be Friday through Saturday morning, when showers are likely. Rain showers could be mixed with thunderstorms, and about a half of an inch of rainfall is currently predicted. The cold unstable air may lead to a tornado or two later Friday; hail is possible, especially in the mountains; and locally heavy rain may lead to some flooding. Snow levels in the local mountains should get as low as 6,000 feet Friday night. Clearer and warmer weather is expected early next week.
